CAAHEP Changes Standard V.A.4.- Surgical Technology Programs

The core indicator outcome that the ARC/STSA Board of Directors chose is the Outcomes Assessment Exam (OAE) pass rate. This is the CST exam pass rate that is reported by programs on their most current annual report under OAE outcomes. For programs to be in compliance with the newly revised Standard, the ARC/STSA Board of Directors adopted the following policy:

All programs must publish the ARC/STSA approved Outcomes Assessment Exam (OAE) pass-rate from the program’s most recently submitted Annual Report. These results will be made available to the public using at least one of the institution’s programmatic information distribution methods; the program’s webpage information, the school’s annual catalog, program documents, other publicly distributed publications or any documents given to students, as well as prospective students, and must be made available to the public by January 1, 2016.

At all times, the published results must be consistent with and verifiable by the program’s most recently submitted Annual Report.
