Accreditation Fundamentals for Educators (AFE) and Advanced Site Visitor Training (SVT-A)

At the Accreditation Fundamentals for Educators [AFE] Workshop, offered from 8:00am – 3:00pm on Friday, February 12, 2016 (the day before the 2016 Instructor’s Forum in Houston, TX), the ARC/STSA will guide you through CAAHEP’s accreditation Standards and Guidelines and the accreditation process to enhance your accreditation knowledge, permitting your program to optimize the benefits of this prestigious accreditation.

Through the use of expert presentations and interactive group and individual learning activities, this workshop will both explain the ins and outs of the current CAAHEP Standards and Guidelines and clarify the information in the ARC/STSA Standards Interpretive Guides applicable to your surgical technology or surgical assisting program.

The AFE Workshop is designed for both new and seasoned program directors, but instructors, deans, and compliance officers will also benefit from attendance at and participation in this workshop.

Later the same day, from 3:00pm – 5:00pm, the ARC/STSA offers the Site Visitor Training Advanced [SVT- A] Workshop for experienced approved On-Site Evaluators to further hone your skills and advance your knowledge as an On-Site Evaluator. Please note that participation in the Site Visitor Training – Advanced Workshop requires pre-requisite completion of the Site Visitor Training – Beginning [SVT- B] and completion of at least one site visit in the last twelve months prior to attending Site Visitor Training – Advanced.

The AFE Registration February 2016 form, with the applicable registration fee, should be submitted to the ARC/STSA to register and pay for these pre-conference workshops. A separate registration form for the AST Instructor’s Forum can be found at www.ast.org.
